N2 - The article discusses issues related to the development of digital economy in modern conditions, as well as the degree of influence of digitalization on the quality of life of the population. The main vectors and directions of information and communication technologies development are presented, as well as prospects of using digitalization of economy. The main problems that obstruct the introduction of digital economy in resolving issues of the socio-economic life of the population are identified. Activities of state programs for the development and implementation of digital economy are analyzed, the most pressing problems for implementing tasks set by the Russian government are identified. The article contains a list of the most frequently used mobile applications that help the population solve issues of sharing knowledge and experience, information, purchasing and selling goods, facilitate communication between people regardless of their location, provide an opportunity to pay for housing and communal services, fines and taxes with minimum time, speed up the process of solving the population’s transportation problems. All conclusions formulated in the article are confirmed by statistical information presented in official sources. The article proposed the most relevant, in the opinion of the author, solutions of developing digital economy to improve the population’s quality of life.
