N2 - The article considers the influence of digital live hotlines on conflict communication in the 'Authority - society' system based on the example of interaction between the St. Petersburg Government and citizens. The purpose of the study is to determine the influence of live hotlines on the dynamics of conflict development in the digital space. Content analysis is used as the main research method to identify the number of references to the conflict topic in live broadcasts and further changes in the dynamics of discussing the conflict situation and, as a consequence, the reduction of social tension. The materials and comments of the official social networks of the St. Petersburg Government were used as an empirical basis. It is expected that the results of the study will reveal the positive or negative dynamics of the influence of live broadcasts on conflict communication in the sphere of relations between the authorities and society.
