The work aims to investigate how a corona discharge and moisture affect the hydrophobicity of silicone rubber in combination. Corona exposure results in a complete loss of hydrophobicity under the active electrode. After water exposure to the silicone rubber sample, an additional zone appears around the damaged area, and its size is several times larger. The water flows down significantly slower in this zone compared to the rest of the sample. Such hypothesis of the area appearance as the influence of plasma-chemical reactions and surface charge are discussed in the work.
