Abstract: Nanorods and nanoplates of boehmite doped with copper, cobalt, and chromium ions were obtained by hydrothermal method. The resulting samples were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, FTIR spectroscopy, and transmission electron microscopy. Their absorption spectra were measured and the band gap values were calculated. As expected, the doping results in the band gap reduction to a value, which is defined by the dopant nature and particle shape.
