Small-angle neutron scattering has been applied to observe a cluster structure and specify its growth in ethanol-based solutions of hydrolyzed silicon tetraethoxide. The contrast variation has been used to reveal the inner structure of the clusters and compare it with the data of the previous analogous experiments. The presence of hydroxyl groups in the clusters is discussed based on the scattering data.
