The article considers a satellite equipped with an electrostatic screen, that moves in a circular orbit in the Earth's magnetic field. The stability of its equilibrium position in the orbital coordinate system is investigated. Both necessary and sufficient stability conditions are obtained. The way in which the Lorentz forces affect the stability of the equilibrium position of the satellite is established.
