Spin-dependent electronic transport in magnetic nanocontacts was discussed. Free-electron model and a linear response theory were used. It was found that a spin blockade results in a very large magnetoresistance, the blockade is due to presence of a nanomagnetic region in the nanocontact separating two ferromagnetic electrodes.
