Military force and diplomacy have been conventional tools of advocating one's national influence on the international arena for a long time. As a result of economic cooperation broadening and information technologies development economic and cultural interaction is coming to the fore. This gives us an opportunity to speak about the special role that strategic communication plays in the contemporary international relations and global politics. The pivotal role in the structure of the understanding of strategic communication is played by speech image of a politician. Thus, conventional problem of language and power interaction, which managed to attract great many theorists today, acquire a new meaning. It is necessary to mention that interdependence of these two notions is so great that in the opinion of some theorists that turn to be synonyms. It is obvious that politicians always tend to use their political rhetoric as a tool of domestic and foreign policy conducting. Nevertheless, only under contemporary circumstances and due to new technologies and the Internet can they appeal not only to their colleagues but to the general public. When we speak about a foreign language as a tool of strategic communication, we imply interdependence of the language and our ability to extend our influence. Media war in political sphere is an important case of interaction of power and language. The discussion on Karabakh settlement between President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and prime minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan in Munich on February, 14 2020, coverage serves as an example.
