Diplomacy and military power are considered to be tools of promoting interests of a state on the international arena. Today interaction in economic and cultural spheres enters the picture due to extension of economic cooperation and information technologies use. Thus, theorists start to speak about the role of strategic communication in the contemporary international relations and global politics. Speech image of a politician plays the pivotal role in the structure of the understanding of strategic communication. The problem posed by language and power interaction acquires a new meaning, attracting great number of scientists. Noteworthy, interdependence of language and power is so great, these notions are so close, that some scholars consider them to be synonyms. Obviously, politicians use their political rhetoric as a tool of domestic and foreign policy conducting. Nevertheless, it is due to new technologies and the Internet that they are able to appeal to the general public not only to their colleagues. Speaking about a foreign language as a tool of strategic communication, we mean interdependence of a language and our ability to extend our influence. Thus, our ability to use a global language implies extending our influence globally. Taking into consideration the current state of affairs concerning the Karabakh settlement, we consider it relevant to resort to English ability of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, because addressing a large audience gives each of them an opportunity to reveal their viewpoints, attracting potential allies and promoting interests of the state each of them presents. Nonetheless, the politicians cope with this task with different results.
