The possibility of long-term monitoring of the NH3 total column in the atmosphere from results of ground-based measurements of direct solar radiation in the mid-IR range was demonstrated based on an analysis of high-resolution FTIR-spectra recorded at the St. Petersburg State University atmospheric monitoring station in 2009–2022. Random and systematic uncertainties of the NH3 total column were estimated. Results of 14-year FTIR monitoring of NH3 in the atmosphere are presented and compared with data from independent satellite and ground-based measurements.
