We use the second modulus of continuity to estimate approximations of a bounded measurable function on the segment [0, 1] by Kantorovich type operatorsBn(f)(x)=∑j=0nCnjxj(1−x)n−jFj(f), where Fj are functionals with sufficiently small supports and certain symmetry. The result obtained is sharp.
