Abstract: The existence of a new fundamental interaction has long been discussed in literature, making it possible to extend the frames of Standard Model. In this work, the applicability of neutron scattering to the search for new internucleon short-range forces is analyzed for the interaction radius of 10–8 < λ < 10–13 m. The coupling constant constraints are obtained using the existing data on silicon powder diffraction from an instrument SPODI, FRM II, Germany. For interaction radius λ < 10–11 m, these constraints are competitive with the best of the existing ones. The performance of a new experiment is expected to provide the constraints improvement of about two orders.
