N2 - A model approach to describing the shape of Lyman transition lines in pair collisions of multicharged ions was suggested. The approach was not based on perturbation theory. A closed equation for both the central line region and the oscillation structure caused by an extremum in the difference of energy terms was obtained. Exchange interaction was shown to cause the formation of two spectral satellites in the red and blue wings of perpendicular Lyman-alpha transitions. The obtained spectral formula was generalized to transitions asymptotically forbidden in the limit of large distances.
