The reference data on the wind and wave regime of the Sea of Japan and the Kara Sea include the required calculation methodology and details for the correct classification of ships by navigation areas when developing the rules and regulations of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping to design ships and facilities, to assess the navigating conditions, to plan the operations on the open sea and on the shelf, as well as to resolve other matters related to the navigation and to the designing of ocean-engineering facilities.
The study has been carried out at the Department of Oceanology of the Saint Petersburg State University and in the Saint Petersburg State University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics (SPbSUITMO) with the participation of INFOMAR LLC.
