The random behavior of a stratified discharge is studied in the case when the regular solution of the kinetic equation exists. Certain characteristic features of random processes in systems with continuously distributed parameters are considered. When electron-electron collisions are unimportant, the electron energy losses due to elastic collisions with neutrals are shown to cause irregularities in the behavior of strata.
