The purpose of the article is to define the nature and the rate of engagement of non-governmental human rights organizations in the issue of provision of gender equality in Ukraine. Materials and methods: The investigation was based on the theoretical methods that cover the content analysis of statutory documents and reports of non-governmental human rights organizations that carry out activities on provision of gender equality in Ukraine. The empirical methods are related to the processing of statistical data on the amount of legal services provided and human rights-related activities of non-governmental human rights organizations in the field of promotion of female rights in Ukraine. Discussion and Conclusion: Human rights NGOs play a fundamental role in the provision of gender equality in Ukraine. Human rights NGOs in the field of gender equality provision founded in Ukraine are of international, national, and local levels. Most human rights NGOs in the field of gender equality provision are concentrated in large regions of Ukraine. Ways of increasing the amount of gender-related human rights NGOs are suggested. Human rights NGOs in Ukraine carry out educational, advocacy, consulting, monitoring, and research activities. The most common activity carried out by Ukrainian human rights NGOs is educational. Few Ukrainian human rights NGOs publish reports on the results of their activities, which demonstrates the low level of transparency of such organizations’ activities. Due to weak connection of human rights NGOs with governmental human rights and research institutions, there is a low number of gender-related monitoring and scientific projects within the activity of human rights NGO. Enhancement of such connection based on the policy documents of the Ministry of Science and Education of Ukraine is suggested.
