The land use planning and management of the Arctic zone (AZ) is among the most significant items on the agenda today in terms of geopolitics and at the same time in terms of economics and technology. For Russia, the AZ is a strategically important part of the country, which occupies a significant territory; as a result, the problem of ensuring the developing of the energy network operating here is one of the priorities. Within this work, an analysis of the energy sector and prospects for its expansion are proposed, with a special emphasis on nuclear energy as the most competitive source of energy in the Extreme North.
