A study is made of a previously discovered variant of a capillary discharge, which is distinctive in that it exhibits periodic jumps in the core formation, associated with the development of acoustic oscillations in the channel. The great speed at which the leading edge of the change of state of the plasma moves in the outer part of the jet compared with the motion of the material itself indicates that the core consists of a dynamic state of the metastable plasma of high energy content, induced by the wave interaction from the discharge zone and conjugate with it.
