This paper is devoted to discrete and continuous models of stress-induced phase transitions in solids. The models are based on non-monotone stress-strain relation. Only mechanical impact is taken into consideration. Thermal effects are omitted. The problem is limited to one space dimension. It is numerically analyzed and the obtained solution allows to demonstrate the penetration of structural conversion inside the material.
