Nord Stream 2 Company carried out an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) to compare alternative location routes of the Russian part of the project Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline in April 2017 in Russia. Lengths of the alternative routes for new marine gas pipeline varied from 1230 km to 1260 km. During preliminary monitoring of natural and anthropogenic restrictions to construction and operation Nord Stream 2 for Narva route and Kolganpya route were observed. Preliminary Environmental Impact Assessment, realized for dredging and backfilling works, was made for planktonic and zoobenthos organisms, which are essential feeding resources for fish communities. N arva route was considered more appropriate taking into account some indicators of dredging and backfilling works and magnitude of impact on the environment.
