Functional stereotaxis is a perspective trend in neurosurgery. Choice of an intrascopic device for imaging and localization (detection of the spatial position) of stereotactic targets is an important problem of clinical stereotaxis. By the present time magnetic imaging is acknowledged as the most informative method of neurovisualization providing a detailed picture of individual structure of the brain and meeting the requirements of functional stereotaxis best of all. The usefulness of magnetic imaging in preparation to such interventions is metrologically validated. Consequences of stereotactic manipulations on the brain, shown by magnetic imaging, are discussed.
