A study was conducted to derive differential equation describing the bend of a thin plate ωh reinforced with several periodic disconnected rigid rods. It was demonstrated that similar composite constructions were involved in engineering practice for developing the GLARE material used in aircraft engineering. The coupling between rods into an integrated network were explained by features of the technological process or by the desire to reduce the production price. It was necessary to introduce the crossed-axes condition in the rods to enable the limiting operator to be elliptic and to determine the corresponding energy functional. These processes were followed as it was observed that the plate reinforced with parallel rods weakly resisted the bending load in the direction perpendicular to the rod axes.
