The excitation degree of photoresonance plasma for conditions of resonance radiation transfer are determined using analytical methods. Three advantages of the method over conventional methods of UV photoionization of a medium are high efficiencies of the processes involved, ionization and photoabsorption in excited atoms collisions, and the fact that low-lying atomic states excitation requires a lower photon energy than its photoionization.
