Mixtures of components that constitute the enantiomer— s with the racemate modification being either M1 or M2 (S—RSM1 and RSM2—R) and the components of the enantiomeric (S—R) system of malic acid have been studied by means of X-ray diffractometry. The ratios of the levorotatory and dextrorotatory molecules were S:R = 1:3 and 3:1. Crystallization of melts consisting of a S—RSM1 mixture having the S:R ratio of 3:1 have been found to result in formation of a S3R1 molecular compound. Indices derived from X-ray diffraction patterns of this compound indicate that it is characterized by a superperiodic four-layer monoclinic unit cell.
