This paper has assembled actual data concerning the transfer of manuscripts in oriental languages from Kazan University to St. Petersburg University in 1855. The notion of transfer "Lists" allowing making a judgment on the composition and value of collections received is introduced. General characteristics of the composition and specific features of "Lists" are given. An attempt to decipher some records related to Turkish manuscripts is made.
