his study deals with the intonational organization of the modern French. The paper gives valuable information about different melodic models used by native speakers in French special questions. Much attention is given to research informatively significant sections of the intonation curve. The perceptional analysis was carried out in order to determine possible emotional and emphatic meanings of French special questions. The results of this study are based on the large experimental data. As the title implies the article describes universal and unique intonational features of French interrogative utterances.
