The deformation of a thin inextensible rectilinear rod with the external forces and moments applied to its ends is studied. The assumption that both rod bending stiffnesses are equal and one of the rod ends is clamped is suggested. The forces and the moments providing the given displacements and rotation for the other rod end are evaluated. The case of small displacements and rotations is considered. The analytical solution taking into account the interactions between the bending and the longitudinal force and the torsion is obtained in the second approximation. The numerical algorithm is proposed.
