The evidencies for the dynamic but not the static nature of rotary” crystals are given for normal paraffins as an example. Distinctive features of thermal deformations and polymorphic transformations of paraffins as well as breakdown of paraffin solid solutions at rising temperatures (in a limited temperature interval) indicate the leading role played by the rotary thermal motion of aliphatic chains about their axes in these processes.
