N2 - This paper considers some issues related to the design of the optical assembly of a deep-sea porthole made of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA). The considered element is planned to be used as part of a lighting system operable at a depth of more than 5000 meters. The calculation is made without taking into account the influence of temperatures.
