In this work the calculation of derivative of Whittaker potential U with respect to τ was performed in the framework of linear current model. Results of computation have shown similarity of the form of the superluminal running current pulse on one hand and the derivative of Whittaker potential ∂U/∂τ on the other in far region at Cherenkov angle.
