The concentrations of oil-products in the tundra soils in the territory of gas-layers are considered. The principal source of petroleum hydrocarbons (PHC) in the surface layer of soils is anthropogenic pollution during the prospecting and exploitation of drillholes. At the same time there exists a connection between surface layers and deep lying oil lenses. It leads to the enrichment of natural soils by PHC. Self-purification of tundra ecosystems in the conditions of rigorous climate and over-damping of soil substratum is extremely difficult.
