On the basis of data obtained from radio meteor measurements of the wind velocity in the upper atmosphere at equatorial latitudes, it is shown that abrupt intensity peaks of internal gravity waves and turbulence occur at the moments of maximum instability of the atmosphere created by tidal motions.
