The parameters of the solar tide related semidiurmal variation of the left bracket OI right bracket 5577 A night airglow intensity of the upper atmosphere are determined by harmonic analysis. The results of these calculations are compared with the parameters of the tidal variations of the wind velocity as determined from radio meteor data. Theoretical estimates are made to ascertain the mechanism by which the solar tide affects the airglow intensity.
