It is known that Nietzsche heard of Herzen, and he read his works, including the most important philosophical works of the Russian philosopher "From the Other Shore", and its ideas can be found in some parts of Nietzsche's mature works (primarily in "Thus Spoke Zarathustra"). Much more important, however, the influence exerted on Nietzsche's two other Russian writers - Leo Tolstoy and Fyodor Dostoevsky. Especially in the treaty "The Antichrist" clear simultaneous presence and ideas Tolstoy (in what is rejected and denied), and ideas Dostoevsky (in what is accepted as the highest Christian truth).
