Quantitative models of the geomagnetic field are described, based on a modified and generalized version of a previously discussed model (Tsyganenko, 1976). The models provide a numerical representation of the magnetospheric magnetic field from the ionospheric level up to 60 earth radii, using the geodipole tilt angle as an input parameter. Six sets of coefficients are calculated, which correspond to different magnetospheric conditions ranging from a super-quiet state to a strong storm situation. The model is developed in the form of a FORTRAN-IV subroutine, which can be used to compute the geomagnetic field components in the solar magnetospheric coordinate system for any geodipole tilt angle.
