The effects of non-monotonic radial distribution of light emission in argon positive column were analyzed using numerical simulations and theoretical analysis. Calculations on electron energy distribution function (EEDF) in gas discharges were performed using local approximations. The slow elastic and fast inelastic parts of EEDF relaxes with different spatial and temporal scales, the nonlocality of EEDF manifests itself differently for different electron energies. The results of the calculations show that the non-locality of the electron energy distribution function (EEDF) show differently depending on the relationship between tube radius, length of energy relaxation in elastic region and inelastic region.
