Assuming a small gas density ratio at the front of an incident shock wave, a solution is constructed for the problem of diffraction of a strong plane shock wave traveling along a slightly bent wall. The solution holds only for very small wall flexure angles. The model flow pattern and shock wave configuration match experimental data from studies with small angles. The solution can be applied to propagation of a strong plane shock wave along a horizontal permeable wall.
