The chapter analyzes one of the forms of political participation of young people in the political life of society—the work in the youth parliament, which is an advisory body to the real bodies of representative power. This type of political participation is becoming an increasingly common conventional form of youth political engagement. For example, in 2022, a youth parliament was also formed under the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg. The purpose of the proposed study is to investigate forms of virtual networking and political participation of the young people in the Youth Parliament, using the example of the Youth Parliament of the Leningrad region, taking into account the career development and social capital of its representatives. The research has been done with the aid of methodology of network analysis supplemented. Inferences are interpreted with the aid of M. Mintrom and Ph. Norman’s theoretical framework. The sample consisted 26 actors who were deputies of the Youth Parliament. As a result of the research, the following findings have been done: the body has a weak representativeness of generation Z, the informal structure of the Youth parliament coincides with a formal, there is an isolated component that indicates on some difficulties in communication within a structure.
