N2 - A fast solver based on the multilevel nonuniform grid approach and an asymptotic approximation designed for scattering by strongly elongated spheroids are mutually validated. Good agreement between the numerical and asymptotic solutions is observed over a wide frequency range for spheroids with various aspect ratios. Numerical noise of the numerical solution is estimated.
