N2 - Androgenetic alopecia is one of the most common types of hair loss and it is associated with social and psychological discomfort. The available repertoire of treatment tools has a number of limitations. The development of new treatments is very important. Analysis of scientific medical literature focusing on the investigation of platelet-rich plasma effect on hair growth and clinical results confirm the validity of the use of this technique in patients with androgenetic alopecia and form the basis for the further study of therapeutic action mechanisms. The features of the functioning of hair follicles in the pathogenesis of androgenetic alopecia are described. Basic clinical and biological effects associated with the use of platelet-rich plasma, affecting hair growth, were specified. We determined limitations of the investigation and evaluation of the results of treatment with platelet-rich plasma in terms of evidence-based medicine.
