A study was made of the electrical conductivity of polycrystalline samples of alpha -PbF//2, beta -PbF//2, and beta -PbF//2 doped with YF//3 and RbF ( beta -PbF//2/YF and beta -PbF//2/RbF) within 20 to 600 degree C. The experimental results gave rise to a number of thermodynamic parameters characterizing the formation and mobility of point defects. Analysis of the data indicated the possibility of formulating a vacancy mechanism of ionic transport in beta -PbF//2 at low temperatures (20 to 300 degree C) and an interstitial mechanism at high temperatures (300 to 600 degree C). The contribution of electron components to the overall conductivity was determined. It is shown that doping beta -PbF//2 with rubidium fluoride led to a decrease and doping with yttrium fluoride to an increase in the electron constituent fraction.
