N2 - Original data on soil formation in the coastal area of Antarctica in the vicinity of the Bellingshausen Antarctic Station are given. Soil morphology, micromoxphology, and physicochemical properties are discussed. Specific features of humus formation under the severe climatic conditions of Antarctica are comprehensively studied. Data on the species composition and number of micromycetes in the studied soils are obtained.
