Our article researches the role of historical journnalism in an ideological support of the antiGermany struggle in the World War I. Analysis was based on the major historic-literature journal in pre-revolutionary Russia. In conditions of the unprecedented patriotic enthusiasm and official determination of the war as “The Great (or the Second) Patriotic War”, the biggest Russian magazines participated in the “informational opposition” to German block.
