A study has been made of the adsorption of water on layers of amorphous WO//3 thermally sprayed under vacuum. The method of capillary evaporation of benzene has been used to show that the mean radius of the pores increases with the spraying angle. Some of the water is adsorbed dissociatively with the formation of surface OH groups capable of adsorbing other molecules. The spectrum of the water molecules contained in the micropores is characterized by the high intensity of the deformation and librational vibration bands.
