The influence of the processes of combined adsorption of trace impurities of Au and Ag on the electrophysical properties of the surface of a Ge electrode has been studied by determining the complex field effect in the electrolytes under galvanostatic conditions for the n-Ge (40 OMEGA multiplied by (times) cm) left bracket 111 right bracket -0. 1 N Na//2SO//4 system. The trace impurities of Au and Ag were adsorbed from the salts AuCl//3 and AgNO//3 present in 10** minus **6 M concentrations. The adsorption conditions and the rate of stirring of the solutions were varied. It was found that the rate-limiting step in the adsorption of trace impurities of Au and Ag on a Ge surface is the diffusion to the electrode surface and that there are two stages in the adsorption interaction of Au and Ag with the germanium surface.
