The International scientific conference on mechanics 'Third Polyakhov lectures' was held in St.-Petersburg 4-6 February of 2003. Conference subjects covered the fundamental directions of the modern mechanics. The following sections worked at the conference: theoretical and applied mechanics, space flight mechanics, mechanics of liquid and gas, deformed body mechanics, history of mechanics.
