N2 - The paper addresses patterns of interaction of shock waves with the sonic line. The incident shocks are formed by either a small curvature of an airfoil arc, or a small step in its contour, or a short bump superposed on the airfoil. We analyse the structure of inviscid steady flow and discuss its instability at certain boundary conditions.
