The electroreduction of copper(II) complexes with polyethyleneimine was studied polarographically at different solution pH. It was found that at pH between 1.5 and 11.0 the irreversible electrode process is preceded by protonation of the complex as a slow chemical reaction. A scheme was proposed for the electrode process in the pH range between 1.0 and 12.5.
