Yields of charmed particles are important observables sensitive to critical phenomena in strongly interacting matter. The identification capability of the MPD tracking system that contains an inner tracker based on monolithic active pixel sensors is studied while reconstructing decays of D+, D0, and D+s, mesons produced in Au + Au collisions at energies of the NICA collider.
