The elaboration of prospecting criteria for discovery of rare massive sulfide deposits is an important problem of oceanic metallogeny. The study of hydrothermal ferromanganese crusts opens up new avenues leading in this direction. The initial data were obtained from dredging of the Fersman Seamount in axial zone of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge (MAR).
